Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending. ~Author Unknown

Amen to that.

I tend to look backwards because it’s easier and safer. Easier because I’m not IN the situation I was so I don’t have nearly as much invested in what’s going to happen. And safer because I already KNOW what’s going to happen so I don’t have to worry about how it turns out.

A lot of times, this leads to stagnation and remorse. I can’t control what happened in my past. I can’t change it.

And things happened I’m not proud of. Things that I COULD have changed at the time. I made decisions that I’m ashamed of, if I think about them for too long. Even some of the little decisions.

But, I can CHOOSE to change my life starting right now.

I can make better decisions by being better informed and listening to my conscience as well as those around me.

And I can make a brand new ending–starting now!

When I get back, we’ll have to start holding each other accountable. I think it helps, especially for two people who are both getting (back) into the game. I scored The Artist’s Way today for $.99. I used to own it but loaned it out and never got it back. I’m ready to kickstart again! :D

Definitely–I think it would help both of us to be accountable to someone besides ourselves. I’m not real good at making myself do things, you know… Getting better–but still not real good :)

In the Artist’s Way, I’ve never actually made it past Week 2, strangely enough. I think that’s because of lack of accountability. Maybe we could do a once-a-week thing where we get together over coffee/photos/something and talk about it? :)

But I’ve got it–and I’m doing the Morning Pages, diligently even :)
