Dad & Bonnie arrived last Saturday afternoon for a week-long visit. Yay! It’s almost ALWAYS nice to hear and see a friendly voice. ::)
We’ve been to the zoo, to the outlet malls, to the top of Pikes Peak, to the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun… I think we’re all exhausted by now
It’s been a great visit, but it left me so tired most evenings that I was ready to just stare at a book and not be creative because, well, I’m tired
But when they first arrived and Natasha saw Bonnie (Dad was sitting outside), she made the biggest frowny face–I thought maybe she had a bad dream because she had been napping. She darted to me and got up on my lap, laying her head on my chest, watching Bonnie and, I guess, not exactly knowing what to think. A few minutes later, she ran back into her bedroom and hid under the comforter on her bed.
Going in her room after her, I brought her back into the den. By this time, Dad was sitting on the couch. He called to her and this was what we got:
You know, I see that smile in there Natasha… I don’t think you can hide it for long.
Grampy made it all better.
Then she had to touch and feel the beard.
I am often happy to see my family because, well, I miss them and I’m lonely out here in Colorado without them.
Different things always surprise me during these trips. And I think Natasha loves her Grampy.
And I think her Grampy loves Natasha too.
